What's my purpose here anyways?!

One of Jay's FC rowers noticed that I have a blog. It's not that I do all of that much with this. I walk through life thinking, hey that would be a great blog post... but then, these days keeping the Spam off of Launch Exhaust is enough trouble. Who'd have figured that I'm much more proficient than Jay at the computer thing?!

Right now, blogs are all of the rage. I know that in the scrapbook world, they have become this great forum for showing off your stuff, probably because Ali Edwards and Cathy Zielske have them! (Don't worry if you don't know who they are, you can always do a google search on them.) I guess I could put this one in my signature for my scrapbook groups, and possibly get a little traffic, leading me to my next question, what are the purpose of blogs anyways and why am I interested in having others read my thoughts?

I know why Jay started his blog, in fact, in many ways, I convinced him to translate his writing to the web rather than simply via email. I like the purpose of that site, it makes sense to me. But, there are so many individual personal blogs, that are basically diaries. Are we all exhibitionists? Is this the diary equivalent of the cell phone??

Of course, I know that for me Launch Exhaust has been a great way to distract myself from more important tasks, like work. Maybe I should do this with my own hobbies?! A distraction, I kind of like that. You know, I've got a paper that I'm supposed to be writing right now. It makes it all the less shocking that I'm posting, right?!

I didn't know you had a blog! This is great, twice the distraction.
P.S. Theres a thing called Adult ADD. (haha just kidding)
